Switching from Jobber to BuildX, in a weekend.
Self-serve import steps for contacts, jobs, and history from Jobber. No sales calls, no migration fees, no downtime mid-season.
Step 1: Export what you own
Export customers, jobs, quotes, invoices, and visit history from Jobber to CSV. Save pricebook items, route data, and reminder templates the office depends on.
Save plan sets, contracts, and closeout documents to a folder per job. You will reattach the live ones in step 3.
Step 2: Import in this order
Contacts first so routes have customers to attach to, then pricebook rates and assemblies, then open visits and project work with current status rather than full history.
Open jobs next with current budget and schedule status, not full history. History follows once the crew trusts the new numbers.
Step 3: Cut over one job
Run one route cycle plus one project job fully in BuildX: scheduling with arrival windows, portal updates, and invoices from shared budget lines. Prove it where the stakes are real but contained.
Then move the rest. Most shops finish the overlap in two to four weeks and wonder why they waited.
Questions shops ask
Do I need to talk to sales to migrate?
No. Every step above is self-serve. If you want help, the help center and contact page reach working humans.
What happens to my history?
Closed-job records import as reference files attached to customers, so the story stays searchable without polluting live budgets.
What happens to visit history and reminders?
Closed visit records import as reference files per customer so service stories stay searchable. Rebuild active reminders and review requests in BuildX on the pilot cycle, then migrate routes once techs trust scheduling and the office trusts job cost without retyping.
How long does the switch take?
One weekend for setup and the pilot job, then two to four weeks of overlap while remaining jobs move. Most shops cut over fully once the pilot invoice reconciles.
