Switching from ServiceTitan to BuildX, in a weekend.

Self-serve import steps for contacts, jobs, and history from ServiceTitan. No sales calls, no migration fees, no downtime mid-season.

Step 1: Export what you own

Export customers, jobs, invoices, pricebook items, call records, and payroll-adjacent reports from ServiceTitan to CSV. Archive inventory and marketing reports your managers rely on.

Save plan sets, contracts, and closeout documents to a folder per job. You will reattach the live ones in step 3.

Step 2: Import in this order

Contacts first, then pricebook mapped to BuildX cost database and assemblies, then open jobs and installs with current status so quoting stays consistent from day one.

Open jobs next with current budget and schedule status, not full history. History follows once the crew trusts the new numbers.

Step 3: Cut over one job

Keep ServiceTitan on live service agreements while BuildX pilots installs and project work: takeoff, portal, change orders, and invoice from one budget on a single install. Prove it where the stakes are real but contained.

Then move the rest. Most shops finish the overlap in two to four weeks and wonder why they waited.

Questions shops ask

Do I need to talk to sales to migrate?

No. Every step above is self-serve. If you want help, the help center and contact page reach working humans.

What happens to my history?

Closed-job records import as reference files attached to customers, so the story stays searchable without polluting live budgets.

Does the pricebook transfer cleanly?

Pricebook lines map to BuildX cost database rates and assemblies, preserving installed-cost logic from closed jobs. Validate the pilot install margin against ServiceTitan history before migrating project work, keeping service dispatch live until the numbers prove out.

How long does the switch take?

One weekend for setup and the pilot job, then two to four weeks of overlap while remaining jobs move. Most shops cut over fully once the pilot invoice reconciles.
